White Dragon Cave "found in Yichun Sanyang is formed one hundred million years ago. It is one of the top and most unique sites at Zhuojiang scenic spots. The Cave got its name because once upon a time the son of the Dragon King of the eastern sea lived here. It is a magic fairyland of stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains, birds, plants and animals in fantastic shapes and colors, all glistening in colorful lights. The waterway within the cave keeps flowing year around. Then you can take a small boat to experience the distinctive views of the underground river.
The cave was opened to public in 1986, which is one of the earliest exploited caves in China. It boasts of the vividly shaped stones. Usually, an average growth rate of stalactites is 0.001cm a year. But here in Zhuojiang cave, stalactites grow by 1cm every ten years. 80% of the stalactites are shiny like snow. The cave is highly in valued in aesthetic appreciation and scientific research according to geologists and experts.
The white dragon cave and Zhuojiang cave are also called "the gate of centrosphere". As "the gate of centrosphere" connects the centrosphere and the surface, both of the caves remain a comfortable temperature between 15 to 20 degree Celsius, which are said to great places for travelling.
